We were lucky this time. The big snow that happened over the weekend didn’t get us. It did last year at about the same time; we had 18 inches in a weekend!
Now that March has arrived spring is officially less than three weeks away. That must mean warm, sunny weather is perched on our porches, right?
Not sure what it’s like where you are but here on the North Coast there have been few signs of spring. In fact, on most days it seems like we’re living in black and white (or perhaps more accurately muddy brown and white). Melissa over at The Inspired Room has posted 20 Little Things to Look Forward to In Spring. She actually posted 19 and wants us to give her one of our own.
Without a doubt at the top of my list is seeing the brilliant colors of the flowers and the amazing green of the tiny new leaves on the trees as they make their first appearance from their winter naps. Have you noticed when the leaves are first born their color is so vibrant it almost hurts your eyes?
I long for the days when we will leave behind our black and white existence and will awake to a world of technicolor! A spring day with dazzling leaf greens against the radiant blue sky while the garden beds in front of our porch show off their spring blooms of yellow, pink, purple and red. The colors of spring are stunning. God is the most amazing artist!
What’s the one litle thing you’re looking forward to this spring?

I’m looking forward to the day when the unruly, arching branches of our forsythia explode into a riot of yellow blossoms!
You have a great blog! I am looking forward to getting out of the house, feeling the mud, and smelling things grow!
I just really long for the sun. The sun makes everything better in my world
Living here in Maine we just received 14 inches yesterday and almost 12 last Monday so there’s no sign of Spring yet! I’m looking forward to the warmth of the sun and being able to open up my windows and doors. Love that smell!
I look forward to seeing flowers and the leaves sprouting on the trees.
