With the break in humidity this week here on the North Coast, we have had a wonderful chance to enjoy being outdoors. While we have white wicker rockers on the front porch, I would love to have a porch swing.
So I’ve been searching online and have found some nice contenders.
Since our porch is not very wide, we can only do a 4-foot wide swing. I love this cottage classic from Great American Woodies. I could get some serious porch time in this charmer!
It comes in at least three colors (white, sage green and creamy yellow although I have read online that there is a barn red option which I think I would like!)
Then there is Uwharrie . . . I LOVE their stuff! One day when we’ve saved enough money we will be replacing the roof on our Cottage In The Woods and we are planning on putting on a red metal roof. I think this Uwharrie in red would look smashing!
Uwharrie is American made, which Mr. DH would appreciate. They are also generously scaled and hand crafted from thick, kiln-dried pressure treated southern yellow pine. I love the distressed finish treatment which gives that weathered appearance. They have many styles . . . this one is clearly leading the pack!
Then there’s always the iron option which the wood-loving bees can’t destroy.
I’m sure with a cushion it would be comfy. I just don’t think it has quite the cottage appeal I want.
Do you have a porch swing? I’d love to get your reviews!

Hi Diana,
Good pick, both Uwharrie & American woodies are good brand to considered, and they’re also very environmental friendly.
Thanks for sharing this interesting post, and enjoy the swing if you already bought one
