sugarberry cottage front porchI’m so excited about the first of several Lowcountry give aways! My thanks to Jolie Home & Events!  Details will follow after our virtual tour.

Sugarberry Cottage was one of four homes you could have won as part of Southern Living magazine’s give away contest this past summer. The house is in  Habersham - a traditional planned community in Beaufort, South Carolina, which I love, love, love!

Last week on our trip to Lowcountry, my husband and I visited Habersham during their Harvest Festival and while there we actually got to tour Sugarberry Cottage!! sugarberry cottage living room

The folks at Habersham very graciously allowed me to take photos of the cottage which is now on the market. So here are some snaps of this darling home!

From the front porch you walk directly into the living room which sugarberry cottage from stairsis designed with warm, spicy colors that say, “Welcome Home.” The open concept space combines a living room and an intimate dining area for six. Both flow into the  kitchen.

In general, I love how the design takes advantage sugarberry cottage bedroom builtinof every opportunity to creatively use nooks and crannies . . . even in places like the twin bedroom {below} they tucked in this wonderful little built-in shelf.

In the mud area {below} where there’s a free standing dresser, they created a small but efficient built-in bench nook.sugarberry cottage mud area

And speaking of creativity, sneak a peek at the upstairs bath {below with the crab}. Look at the  architectural interest they created by finishing out the framed soffit instead of dry walling over it.  Simple but so effective!sugarberry cottage second bathroom shower nook

And of course, the decorating is amazing!! I loved so many little pieces that made the cottage feel like home.

At the top of the stairs, I spied a white weathered box of  ”gathered truth” cards which I found at the afore mentioned  Joli Home & Events, an A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E home and event shop in the Habersham townsquare!

These lettered pendant lights {second row, third item} caught my eye - what conversation pieces! They were hanging over the check out area and were so striking. These are just some of the unique pieces the shop girls offer at the store.

Joli is part of the 3/50 Project which is encouraging us to shop at independent retailers to help save our local economy during this challenging time. Needless to say, I did a lot of helping the local economies on my trip! So now to the details of our give away!

My favorite item from their shop was the white etagere. I could see using it in a bathroom or the kitchen.

If I won the lantern I would use it in our front porch most likely.

Fun contest and nice shop…thanks!

I really enjoyed browsing their website and especially liked the fact that it is owned by a mother and daughter. How sweet is that! I wish I could visit their store in person and browse through their beautiful items. I love the lantern and think it would be a great addition to our fireplace mantel.

Loved their site and all the cute things.. especially liked the clock, and the piece of furniture. I would have liked to have been able to shop and see all the things they offer. Love the little lantern think it would look great in my new parlor/dining room.
