We’re interrupting reality today to interject a little fantasy!
My reality is that I am living in the middle of a loud, messy remodeling job on our kitchen and laundry room. It’s freezing outside and I’m cold! (not that I’m complaining ;o)
The living room is playing host to all the homeless items that have been displaced by the destruction in the kitchen!
The kitchen is now in the dining room. Only the sink remains functioning in the real kitchen. I have made dinner three times this week using a microwave and hot plate. Tonight my husband is taking me out for dinner ~ shocking. ;o)
Here’s a bit of the deconstruction:
Yes, this is my life. But here is today’s bit of escapism. Hope these pictures below help you take a little mental vacation without ever leaving your house, office or wherever you may be! Enjoy ~
In northern Michigan there is a little jewel of a town called Harbor Springs.
Homes and businesses built by the Cottage Company have helped create this picturesque community. Their timeless designs and enduring styles are keys to creating places that “feel” like home & that we all want to call our home.
This project from their website caught my eye since my own cottage is sitting in the middle of 18″ of snow.
Isn’t is just so cozy? If you live in a place where it snows, this is the way to do it!
Picture perfect. Can’t you just imagine yourself snuggled in this winter cottage on a cold, snowy Michigan weekend? Me too. Wonder if they rent it out? Probably not but it’s nice to visit, even if it is just virtually!

That is nice, but right now I’d rather be here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ladigue_99/304431492/
Amazing Polly. I’m with you. Can you talk to my hubby about this? ;o)
This place is gorgeous. I can see myself sitting in this cozy place with a hot cup of hot chocolate.
Yes, while Polly is right that it would be great to be on warm beach – IF you have to live someplace where it snows, this little cottage wouldn’t be a bad place. You can see more pics of it on the company website at: http://www.cottage-company.com/gallery.php?gallery=6&image=5
Just gorgeous! I went to their website and the rest of the pictures are just spectacular (albiet extremely expensive)!
