I love the enchantment of a well thought-out and designed bed and breakfast inn. There is a magic and romance at a good B&B that you just can’t get at a hotel – no matter how many stars.
This week, we travel to Orcas Island, 70 miles north of Seattle, Washington. The Place at Cayou Cove is a charming B&B of three private cottages on five waterfront acres.
The period cottages have been restored and are appointed with an array of amenities from lavender-scented toiletries, to Italian linens, to Egyptian robes & slippers.
Breakfast is brought to your cottage each morning and often features selections from their organic kitchen garden.
During the July 4th holiday you can enjoy spectacular fireworks over the cove. While on the island you can visit wineries and enjoy “slow food” created from produce, seafood and livestock of small specialty farms.
Of course, one of the best things to do is nothing at all! Enjoying time with your special someone in this magical setting as you can see from this video. The Place at Cayou Cove is at the top of my list to visit with my husband. What a captivating island get away!
