Being the mom of boys and a high school senior (and soon to be college freshman) — I think something high tech/modern with flat screen TV and electronic gadgets. Something that definitely looks grown up/bachelor pad-ish.

Not quite sure?? When I think of a freshmen I don’t exactly think twin bed and 12 year old?? I would want to give it enough of an adult look with out making it to MASTER looking??? A big challenge I think… I willl look forward to your design ideas..not an easy one.
