I’ve taken a day away from painting to go to Fort Jackson, SC to see my niece graduate from basic training. We stopped at the “EdVenture” Children’s Museum here in Columbia for the afternoon. What a a great source of inspiration for color and out-of-the-box decorating ideas!
If you’re in the area or visiting, I highly recommend stopping by for an afternoon or even a day. The inspiration starts as soon as you step into the entry!
How great is this energetic color palette of blue, green, yellow and burnt orange??
I love the tone on tone words on walls (that you can see in parts in several of the photos). Get this look by using a flat paint on your walls and a semi-glossor high gloss in the same color to stencil your words. I have used this technique to do “shadow striping” on walls which looks so terriffic!
We noticed these creative containers – how great would they look in a playroom, craft room or a kid’s bedroom? While these displays are built-ins, you could do the same thing with shadow boxes or dimensional frames. I love how colorful these displays are – look at this one with crayons. I think it so much fun to create statement pieces out of things we have hanging around the house already!
