A Mouse (or Two) In the House

by Diana @ The Devine Home on April 13, 2009

Over at The Decorating Voice, Beth Batke  asks how you show a touch of whimsy in your house. Here at our Cottage incassie-stair-mice the Woods, I have a touch of the unexpected and a bit of whimsy on our stairway. I got these little guys from Martha Stewart last fall. Michael’s had them. I mean, how cute are they???

It’s always fun to see the reaction of people when they go up the stairs – it takes them by surprise and they always laugh. This photo also shows off my husband’s fine painting – he applied the white on the rises (we are  s-l-o-w-l-y getting rid of the honey oak that’s everywhere in the house!)

I love this litte touch of the unexpected! So, where’s the whimsy in your house?

That is whimsical and a little bit of a falling hazard…lol! We don’t have any stairs in our 1970’s ranch (oh yeah…complete with popcorn ceilings!) so my whimsy is relegated to our photos. I love taking pics of my kids and putting them on my walls.

Love the pics of the kids! What great little faces to decorate your walls ;o) I’m just now getting started with my “Hall of Family” hallway. While I’ll have professional pics of my nieces and nephews, I also have a lot of candid pics I’ll be using. (Wal-Mart has run out of floating frames!) Thanks for stopping by Mrs. Q. Hope you’ll be a regular visitor to The Devine Home.

Yeah, you’re leaving a comment, thanks! They are simply devine & make my day!
